The first annual South East England Biodiversity Forum (SEEBF) Conference was held on the 6th of March.

As well as introducing the new 'South East Biodiversity Strategy', together with a new Business Plan, both prepared by the SEEBF, the day included workshops focused on:

  • How the strategy will support and guide Local Authorities;
  • How the strategy will support and guide Local Biodiversity Partnerhsips (LBAPs);
  • Developing the strategy for the urban environment; and
  • Developing the strategy for the marine environment.

Seventy people from across the region took this opportunity to shape the work of the forum and the development of the strategy. The output of the day will become a brief to be put to the SEEBF executive at the end of March and will inform the work of the biodiversity forum in the coming financial year (2009-2010).

This will mean starting up new projects to cover these areas of work. If you would like to get involved, or find out more about the South East Biodiversity Strategy or the work of SEEBF please contact Tom Butterworth.
